Rocky Mountain National Park encompasses 415 square miles of spectacular mountain environments and diverse ecosystems. The park is home to over 500 species of wildlife including 270 types of birds, 67 mammals, and 141 butterflies, and 5 that are threatened or endangered. Take advantage of over 300 miles of hiking trails where you can see this wildlife as well as a vast array of plants and wildflowers.

Make sure while you are there to take a trip on Trail Ridge Road, a 48 mile long highway to the sky. Which climbs mountains wrapping arround them. The final 11 miles take you above the tree line (11,500 ft) and the road reaches a peak of 12,183 ft! The road showcases a large variety of ecosystems ranging from evergreen forests and culminating in alpine tundra.

Trail Ridge Road is far from the only activity at Rocky Mountain National Park. Visitors can also spend time climbing mountain ridges, camping, fishing, or more. The possibilities are endless!

When you decide to go visit be aware that a good portion of the park does not have cellular service. You will need to have a communications plan. Here are some ultra portable satellite devices that will keep you connected throughout the entire park.
